CGSFLU ORGANIZES GAD TALK GENDER SENSITIVITY TRAINING

The City Government, through the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, organized the GAD TALK: “Growing Awareness, Driving Change” A Gender Sensitivity Training Series at the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State – Mid-La Union Campus (DMMMSU-MLUC) Covered Court last December, 2025.

The activity was attended by students from Northern Philippines College for Maritime, Science and Technology, Sea and Sky College, Union Christian College (UCC), Lorma Colleges, DMMMSU-MLUC, and Central Ilocandia College of Science and Technology (CICOSAT).

The program aimed to address gender-related issues among youth, and to promote gender sensitivity within academic institutions and communities.

Atty. Nancy R. Lopez-Bilaoen, Atty. Myra-Diwata A. Rivera-Caroy, Dr. Rachelle G. Batalla, Atty. Abdul Rahim G. Acoon, and Ms. Arlyce Georgia B. Pimentel served as resource speakers during the event.

Staff members of the DMMMSU-MLUC and the GAD Office also assisted in facilitating the event.

The objective of the GAD TALK Series is to integrate gender-sensitivity education among youth by introducing fundamental gender concepts, legal frameworks, human rights, and the importance of respect, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in building safe and equitable communities.

Through awareness campaigns among our youth, our #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo continues to promote equality, sensitivity, and social justice to all Fernandos and Fernandas regardless of gender.
