CITY GOVERNMENT AWARDS OUTSTANDING VAWC DESKS ON WOMEN’S MONTH CULMINATING PROGRAM

Barangay Captains and Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Desk Officers gathered for the National Women’s Month culmination program organized by the City Government of San Fernando, La Union at J&V Hotel and Resort, Barangay Sevilla, last March.

As part of the culmination program, Gender and Development (GAD) Office led the awarding ceremony of Most Outstanding VAWC Desk from the 59 barangays of the city.

The following were recognized as the Most Outstanding VAWC Desks that demonstrated exemplary performance in the functionality assessment conducted on November 13 to December 3, 2024:

Coastal Category:
1st Place – Pagudpud
2nd Place – Catbangen
3rd Place – Ilocanos Norte

Upland Category:
1st Place – Bangbangolan
2nd Place – Nagyubuyuban
3rd Place – Pacpaco

Inland Category:
1st Place – Barangay IV
2nd Place – Cadaclan
3rd Place – Dallangayan Este

Meanwhile, non-awardee VAWC desks also received their respective Certificate of Recognition for their continued dedication to the cause.

During the awarding ceremony, recipients were joined by Hon. Ramon Guio A. Ortega, Jr., Liga ng mga Barangay President, Ms. Lily Ann O. Colisao, City Local Government Operations Officer, Ms. Maria Theresa M. Navarro, GAD-TWG Chairperson, and Ms. Elma R. Quinaguran, representative of 1st District Provincial Board Member Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina P. Nisce.
